Surveys

Do you live in southern St Elizabeth? Or did you/ your family migrate from southern St Elizabeth to other regions of Jamaica, the US, or the UK?

Do you consider yourself to have some knowledge of the southern St Elizabeth history?

​

We are looking for residents of southern St Elizabeth, and members of the southern St Elizabeth diaspora who live in Jamaica, the US, and the UK, to complete surveys on the history of the region. The surveys will help expand our knowledge of the understudied southern St Elizabeth history and will develop our understanding of the complex multicultural layers of the population. The aim is to collate a wider range of representations of the Treasure Beach and surrounding southern St Elizabeth history.

For the purposes of this study, southern St Elizabeth is defined as the area highlighted on this map:

If you have decided to take part in the survey, thank you in advance for your time and contribution. On average, the survey takes between 20 and 30 minutes to complete.

Please note that your first name, surname, age, and general area of residence (i.e. bay in Treasure Beach, town in southern St Elizabeth, parish in Jamaica, state in US, county in UK) will be published within the PhD manuscript, and potentially online, within journal articles, and in the Jamaica Memory Bank (oral history archive) so that your words can be attributed to you. Your email address will remain confidential and will not be published anywhere.

Survey 1: Locals in southern St Elizabeth

Survey 2: Jamaica diaspora of southern St Elizabeth

You are a resident of Jamaica. You live outside southern St Elizabeth, but you were previously resident there or have ancestral ties to the region. You also consider yourself to have some knowledge of the southern St Elizabeth history. 

Survey 3: US diaspora of southern St Elizabeth

You are a resident of the US, but you were previously resident in southern St Elizabeth or have ancestral ties to the region. You also consider yourself to have some knowledge of the southern St Elizabeth history. 

Survey 4: UK diaspora of southern St Elizabeth

You are a resident of the UK, but you were previously resident in southern St Elizabeth or have ancestral ties to the region. You also consider yourself to have some knowledge of the southern St Elizabeth history.
